Value being on the road rather than reaching the destination

For most of the activities we follow in life, especially when it comes to self-improvement or any improvement in general, there is not such a thing as a final destination or the endpoint.

Looking at learning a skill as a project can be very misleading and ineffective in the way of improving that skill. Thinking that I am going to lose weight in 6 months and later I will put it away can result in setbacks and failures.

In most cases you really don’t know that when you are going to see the final results of your work and in order to also stay on top you have to continue doing it again and again and again.

Losing weight and being fit is a good example. Even after losing the excess weight and becoming fit you have to maintain and sustain the healthy life-style that you picked otherswise you see yourself falling to the first level very quickly and have to start all over again.

Many skills and traits in order to grow and flourish, require a certain habit, mindset, and triats that continuously improve your competency.

If you want to grow in a specific skill, whether it is cooking, writing, photography or any other skill, it has to become part of your life, while when you lack it feel like something is missing, something is not at the right place.

Skills grow and flourish in yourself if you set some rules for a very long period of your life and time.

Forget about the end, reaching point and start thinking about the process, the system and the means that help you reach what you meant to reach.

With enough of pataince you will see that point, but itself shouldn’t be your goal. You should focus on the process, which can eventually lead you to that goal.

I think internalizing and acquiring something are very good words to explain what I have in my mind. When you acquire something it becomes part of you, part of who you are, your everyday life.

Avoid any strategy that promises you, short-term wins and gains. There is no shortcut to a better life and reaching your potential.

Hard work, marathons, and dedication are things that for a very long time determine the quality of your life.

Putting away money for a long period is what makes you wealthy. Working out for a long period, eating healthy and avoiding drinking are secrets to being fit. And surprisingly no success has any secrets, anything mysterious and anything that most of people don’t know. Whatever it is is the required amount of pain and dedication for a long time to put into working. Which sucks and most people don’t want and like that.

Think about this, what is the portfolio of habits and everyday routines would you like to have in your day? Is running included? How about writing? How about eating junk food or drinking? Do you want to have a social life or prefer solitude? These are choices you can make, and you have the free will to pick.
